Misty’s Restaurant And Brewery
Misty’s Restaurant and Brewery in Lincoln Nebraska was started in 1963 by Bob and Grace Milton as a “bottle club”. Then known as Club 63, Misty’s Restaurant And Brewery is located at 4325 North 63rd Street in Havelock. Then in 1965 when liquor laws shifted and allowed restaurants to sell liquor by the drink, they added a small propane grill. The grill was able to handle up to six hamburgers or four small steaks at a time, and thus Misty’s Restaurant And Brewery was born. This was the humble beginnings of what would soon be one of the most famous Lincoln, Nebraska restaurants.
The small grill that served Misty’s Restaurant And Brewery was eventually replaced with a larger one, and was later paired with a rotisserie. Named after Bob and Grace Milton’s favorite song “Misty”, they became notorious for their quality beef and specialty spices, eventually garnering the reputation of serving the finest prime rib not only in Lincoln, Nebraska, but the entire Midwest area.
The Miltons eventually became very well known for their ribs, serving quality beef seasoned with their special spices. Their unique seasoning, which has achieved legendary status on its own in the Lincoln, Nebraska area, was mixed in a large barrel and rolled up and down the alley in order to mix well before being seasoned on their prime ribs, steaks and burgers. The culmination of the Miltons’ cooking traditions happened in 1998 when Bob Milton was named the Restaurateur of The Year by The Nebraska Restaurant Association. He passed away later that same year.
